Protesting doctors not satisfied after meet with Centre, yet to take final call on strike

On Tuesday, the Union health ministry met a delegation of resident doctors who have been protesting against the delay in NEET PG 2021 counselling. However, the doctors were not satisfied with the result of the meeting.
Resident doctors of hospitals across India have been protesting under the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) banner against the delay in NEET PG 2021 counselling. On Monday, the protest reached a fever pitch when resident doctors marched towards the residence of Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and some of them were detained by the Delhi Police. FORDA claimed the doctors were subjected to ‘police brutality’ and announced that all healthcare institutions would be shut down Tuesday onwards.
