Protest erupts in Karnataka assembly over Shivamogga murder, Speaker’s attempt to compromise fails

The Opposition party in Karnataka began protesting in the assembly after the Speaker’s attempt to find a compromise failed. The Vidhan Parishad has been adjourned to 3pm because of the MLCs' protest.
The ruling party and the Opposition in Karnataka have locked horns in the Assembly over the murder of a Bajrang Dal activist in Shivamogga on Monday, February 21. The Opposition party began protesting inside the assembly after the Speaker’s attempt to find a compromise between the two parties failed. The Vidhan Parishad has been adjourned to 3pm because of the MLCs' protest.
HD Kumaraswamy, the former Chief Minister said, “Last week I predicted this would happen. The death of a boy has happened. Congress and BJP can enjoy now they have destabilised peace in the state.”
He added that this happened increasingly due to the elections. “I never thought this would happen in Karnataka. This happens in North India. Because of the atmosphere, colleges and schools are shut. What started in coastal Karnataka is now everywhere,” said Kumaraswamy.
Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the killed activist have been moved from the hospital to his house. Speaking about the issue, minister BS Yeddyurappa said, “ An investigation is going on. The Chief Minister and Home Minister are looking at it. I don't think it's because of hijab.”
