The posters were pasted on Jilani Bridge in Surat. Police said it is yet to be known who was behind the posters. CCTV footage is being scanned to find the people behind the posters.

Nupur Sharma was suspended after the video in which she made the comments went viral, leading to global outrage. Multiple cases were registered against her for hurting religious sentiments.
The BJP issued a statement asserting that it respects all religions and strongly denounces insults to any religious personality. After this, Sharma unconditionally withdrew her statement.
The matter swiftly blew up on the international front, with many Islamic countries slamming the comments about the Prophet.
