Mumbai police on Wednesday issued fresh prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC to contain the spread of Covid-19.
To contain the spread of COVID-19, fresh prohibitory orders were issued on Wednesday by Mumbai Police under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which bans gathering of five or more people at one place in the city, an official said. He added that the order will be implemented from 8 pm on Wednesday and remain in place till 7 am on May 1. The fresh prohibitory orders came as a part of Maharashtra government's curfew-like restrictions on public movement across the state for the next 15 days. While announcing the restrictions on Tuesday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that Section 144 of CrPC will come into effect in Maharashtra during this period.More Related News
