A Telangana BJP leader said on Monday that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is "trying to come in a new avatar as a devout Hindu woman". He said the Congress leader has "gained political mileage" after the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
Telangana BJP leader NV Subhash launched a scathing attack on Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra saying that the leader was capable of changing colours like a "chameleon". NV Subhash said Priyanka Gandhi is "trying to come in a new avatar as a devout Hindu woman" after the Lakhimpur Kheri incident as she tried to gain political mileage out of it.
NV Subhash said she suddenly appeared with chandan on her forehead at Durga Stuti in Varanasi. NV Subhash was referring to the Lakhimpur Kheri violence during farmers’ protest in Uttar Pradesh. Eight people, including two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, a journalist, a driver and four farmers were killed in the incident.
