Prince Philip dedicated his life to playing the supporting role

While known for outrageous statements many saw as bigoted, Prince Philip made personal sacrifices to support the Queen.

Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth, has died at 99, Buckingham Palace said on Friday. He had recently been hospitalised with an infection. He was born on June 21, 1921, in Greece, although his family were exiled from the country while he was an infant.
