Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, received today at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel a delegation of Their Excellencies Members of Congress in the friendly United States of America, which included Representative Ami Bera, Member of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs for the Indo-Pacific Region, Rep. Salud Carbajal, a member of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee; Democratic Rep. Derek Kilmer; Rep. Juan Vargas, a member of the Financial Services Committee; Republican Rep. Dave Joyce, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security; and Republican Rep. Lance Gooden, a member of the Services Committee Finance, on the occasion of his visit to the country.
During the meeting, the close strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America and ways to support and develop them were reviewed, and developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories were discussed, especially joint mediation efforts to end the war on the Strip, in addition to the latest developments in the region.
