Pretrial date for accused in University of Waterloo stabbings set for Sept. 26

The 24-year-old man charged in the University of Waterloo stabbings in a gender-studies class this summer was in court on Friday, when a pretrial date of Sept. 26 was set.
Geovanny Villalba-Aleman, a former student at the university in southern Ontario, faces terrorism and 11 other charges in connection with the June 28 attack that sent an associate professor and two students to hospital:

In Ontario Superior Court on Friday, Villalba-Aleman sat behind a prisoner's box, wearing a dark dress shirt and dress pants.
The Superior Court of Justice defines a pretrial as a meeting between a judge, a Crown attorney and lawyers for the accused (or the person charged when they are not represented by a lawyer), as required under the Criminal Code and the court's criminal proceedings rules.
Villalba-Aleman is expected to be back in court on Oct. 13.
