The president expressed frustration at the continued power outages affecting hundreds of thousands of people after Hurricane Ida hit the Gulf Coast.
President Joe Biden visited Louisiana days after Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc in the region, destroying homes and leaving hundreds of thousands of people without power for days. At a briefing with local officials at St. John Parish’s Emergency Operations Center in LaPlace on Friday, Biden said he understood the frustration of many residents with the widespread lack of power. “There’s nothing political about this. It’s just simply about saving lives and getting people back up and running,” Biden said. “We’re in this together, and so we’re not going to leave any community behind — rural, city, coastal, inland. I promise we’re gonna have your backs until this gets done.”More Related News
