28-year-old England midfielder Ross Barkley parted ways with Chelsea by mutual consent after making as many as 100 appearances for the Premier League club.
England international Ross Barkley on Monday parted ways with Chelsea by mutual consent, the Premier League club said. Midfielder Barkley will look to find a new club as a free agent.
28-year-old Ross Barkley made as many as 100 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring 12 goals after he joined Chelsea in 2018 from his boyhood club Everton. Barkley was part of a Chelsea side that won the FA Cup, Europa League and Club World Cup.
However, Barkley struggled to cement his spot in the starting XI and was loaned out to Aston Villa.
Barkley's final game for Chelsea was against Watford in May and he scored a late header that secured victory in the last league match of the season.
"We would like to thank Ross for his contribution to Chelsea and wish him well for the rest of his career," Chelsea said in a statement on their website.
