After more than a year of protesting at Delhi's borders, farmers' unions called off their agitation on Thursday once the Centre accepted their demands on issues including minimum support price (MSP), withdrawal of cases against the farmers and compensation to the families of those who lost their lives during the protest.
On Saturday, the farmers from Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh began their long journey back home. In the midst of packing up and dismantling the protest sites they have occupied since November 2020, the farmers danced, prayed and distributed langar.
