Doha: People have started praying in mosques without maintaining social distancing as the new phase of lifting of Covid-19 restrictions come into force from today. As per the new instruction from Ministry of Awqaf, social distancing has to be maintained only for Friday sermon and people can prayer together standing in a line. The other changes which came into effect include reopening toilets and ablution places in mosques, which are in non-crowded areas. The Ministry has published a list of 500 mosques where it will come into effect. The mosques holding Friday prayer will be closed after completing the capacity of worshippers inside with one metre distance among them. The Ministry called upon worshippers to adhere to and abide by the precautionary measures, in order to ensure the safety of worshippers and members of society. The measures which are still in place in mosques are showing Ehteraz app for entrance, bringing each person his own prayer rug and taking care to wear a mask.
