Hundreds of bodies can be seen buried in the sand along the banks of river Ganga in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Locals say the administration has now cracked down on the practice.
Multiple instances of dead bodies found buried in the sand along the banks of river Ganga have come to the fore from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Over the last month-and-a-half, hundreds of bodies were found disposed of under similar circumstances. Despite orders by the state government in this regard, the burial of bodies in the sand along the banks of river Ganga continues to this day. Most of these bodies were wrapped in clothes and demarcated using bamboo sticks. Strips and bottles of medicine could also be seen lying near the buried bodies. Suggesting that the number of these bodies is not indicative of the surge in Covid deaths, the local administration claims that most of the bodies were buried before the second wave of infections hit the state.More Related News
