Morning commuters driving along Commissioners Road East west of Wellington Street faced traffic delays Monday.
A vehicle struck a hydro pole in the early morning leading to minor injuries and causing power outages spanning from Commissioners Road East between Wharncliffe Road South and Wellington Street to Southdale Road East.
Police were on the scene directing traffic as westbound lanes were closed near Kingsford Crescent Monday morning. Hydro crews were working to restore power to the area.
Vehicle and electrical debris was scattered on the road and grass from the impact. Residents in the area of the collision confirmed to CBC News they were still without power around 7:30 a.m.
London Hydro estimated it would take about two hours to resolve the outages, said spokesperson Nancy Hutton. Outages are tracked on London Hydro's outages map.
Investigations are underway, said Police.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
