A possible tornado overturned a truck and uprooted several trees in Brossard, on Montreal's South Shore, Wednesday night.
Strong winds overturned a semi-trailer on Matte Boulevard at 8 p.m., according to Mélanie Mercille, a spokesperson with Longueuil police (SPAL).
The driver suffered minor injuries.
"All signs point to a tornado," said Environment Canada meteorologist Félix Biron.
He points out that a rotating column of air approached the ground before causing damage -- signs that the storm was a tornado.
He adds that Environment Canada will investigate to be 100 per cent certain, as well as to determine its strength.
Matte Boulevard remains closed to traffic between Highway 30 and du Quartier Boulevard, said the force.
