The PFI in Karnataka called for an impartial investigation into the serial murders that took place recently in coastal Karnataka. The organisation also demanded that the state government provide equal compensation to the families of all three victims.
The Popular Front of India (PFI), in a statement, called for an impartial investigation into the serial murder cases that have taken place in coastal Karnataka. They also demanded that the state government provide equal compensation to the families of the victims.
Recently, in a span of 10 days, three young men were murdered in coastal Karnataka. The current BJP government, which should have considered all three murder cases seriously by giving them equal importance, has instead been giving excessive attention to the murder of their party worker while blatantly trivializing the Sangh Parivar orchestrated murders of the two innocent Muslim men,” said a press release issued by the PFI.
The PFI further alleged that Praveen's murder case was handed over to the NIA for the sole reason that he was a BJP worker.
The PFI demanded that the state government abandon its discriminatory attitude and facilitate equal and impartial investigations into all three cases.
The release further said, “The incidents of murders that occurred in Coastal Karnataka have disturbed the peace and tranquillity of the district. In the meantime, the outrageous news being broadcast by a section of the media about the incidents of murder is emotionally provoking the people.”
All three murder victims in coastal Karnataka belonged to families of poor economic backgrounds.
“But, CM Bommai, who visited Praveen's house and distributed 25 lakhs compensation on behalf of the government, did not visit Masud's residence in the same village and nor did he announce any compensation for his family. Representatives of the government have not visited Fazil’s family and no compensation was provided to them,” said the press release.
