In just three days, the film managed to cross Rs 230 crore worldwide and will breach the Rs 250-crore mark today, October 3. The film is heading towards a blockbuster and is likely to enter into the profit zone if it continues at this pace. Ponniyin Selvan is likely to shatter multiple records at the box office.
The first part of Ponniyin Selvan hit the theatres on September 30 amid huge fanfare. The film was released in five languages across the globe.
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Ponniyin Selvan is having a stupendous run at the theatres. The film has collected over Rs 230 crore at the box office worldwide. His tweet read, "For the 3-day opening weekend, #PS1 has grossed more than 230 Crs+ at the WW Box office (sic)."

Ponniyin Selvan was released in IMAX as well. The film created a record in the IMAX screens worldwide.
