Polls, targetted killings discussed in Amit Shah’s meeting with J&K BJP leaders: Sources

In a meeting with J&K BJP leaders, Amit Shah discussed elections in the UT as well as the recent incidents of targetted killings, as per sources.
Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on Friday held a meeting with the party’s core group members from Jammu and Kashmir at his residence in New Delhi.
Sources told India Today that elections in the Union Territory were discussed during the meeting. The home minister reportedly told the BJP cadre to “be ready for elections”.
After review of voter registration and electoral rolls by ECI that is likely to end in November, ECI could take a call on announcing election dates, Amit Shah told J&K BJP workers, sources said.

Sources said the security situation on the ground and targetted killings in the Valley were also discussed during the meeting on Friday.
The Union home minister said he has asked all intelligence and security agencies to build a strong anti-terror grid and weed out terrorism from the Union Territories.
Amit Shah also asked party leaders to build the organisation further in the UT, not just in Jammu, but also in Kashmir valley. He also asked for youth and intellectuals from the state to be brought into the party fold.
