Police will provide an update on their investigation into the deadly March 16 fire in Old Montreal that has left five people dead and two missing.
Insp. David Shane and Montreal fire operations chief Martin Guilbault are expected to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. Monday.
The update comes two days after fire crews found a fifth body in the rubble at the site of the Place d'Youville building. The body was sent to a pathologist for identification as crews continue their search for the people who are still missing.
Only one victim has been identified so far since the building at the corner of Port Street and Place d'Youville went up in flames. Police confirmed last Wednesday Camille Maheux, 76, died in the fire.
Meanwhile, family members of other occupants in the building are still waiting for news about their loved ones.
Family and friends have identified the other victims as Saniya Khan, 32, Dania Zafar, 32, Charlie Lacroix, 18, and 31-year-old An Wu.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
