Seven police teams are on the lookout for Shrikant Tyagi, an individual who claimed he was a BJP worker. He was booked for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman in Noida.
According to sources, teams at Lucknow, Gurugram, Saharanpur and Noida are looking for Shrikant Tyagi. Meanwhile, two female constables are at his residence to keep an eye on his wife.
His wife, who is now at his residence, was questioned for almost 24 hours.
Earlier, a video of Shrikant Tyagi manhandling a woman had gone viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the BJP has clearly distanced itself from the controversy, with party MP Mahesh Sharma claiming that he had never seen the accused at any party function. Mahesh Sharma has stated that Shrikant Tyagi is not a BJP worker.
