Toronto police are searching for the occupants of a 2019 black Land Rover, with licence place CWKK 869 that was involved in a series of drive-by shootings in Scarborough on Friday afternoon.
Two people were taken to hospital following the shootings that happened at around 2:40 p.m. Toronto police say three victims were targeted, in three separate vehicles.
Police say one patient has serious injuries, while another is in life-threatening condition. There no word on whether the third victim was injured.
Paramedics say the victim with life-threatening injuries is a woman, likely in her 40s, while the other victim is a man, likely in his late 30s or 40s.
"We don't have any motive at this time, we don't have any established relationships," said Insp. Maher Abdel-Malik, with Toronto Police Service.
Abdel-Malik says the shooting began at McCowan Road and Lawrence Avenue E. He says the vehicle then went up McCowan to Ellesmere Road, and then eastbound on Ellesmere.
Abdel-Malik says police do not know how many occupants were in the suspect vehicle.
"To those individuals, the occupants of that vehicle, we have a lot of resources as you can see currently working, and we are out there searching for this vehicle, so I urge the occupants and those involved to contact a lawyer and turn themselves in at any police station," Abdel-Malik said.
Abdel-Malik says anyone who sees the vehicle should consider the occupants "armed and dangerous" and should immediately call 911. He asked anyone who may have witnessed any of the shootings, or who has dashcam footage, to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Police say to expect road closures and traffic delays in the area while the investigation continues.
