Police presence scales back in Airport Heights following early morning response
CBC
Police presence in the Airport Heights area has scaled back following officers responding to an incident centred on a single home in the east end of St. John's.
In a statement sent around 4:30 a.m. NT, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said there was a "heavy police presence" in the Airport Heights area, and they would be there until the situation is resolved.
They asked residents to steer clear of the area, but the statement didn't add any details about what type of incident officers were responding to, or the street.
As of 8 a.m., there were three police cars parked on Savannah Park Drive, located just off of Airport Heights Drive.
The roads were not blocked and traffic was flowing.
CBC News has repeatedly asked the RNC for an interview.
