Toronto police have identified a woman killed early Thursday in a Scarborough townhouse.
Julia MacIsaac, 42, of Toronto, was found with "obvious signs of trauma" in the home in the area of Scarborough Golf Club Road and Kingston Road, police said in a news release on Friday.
Officers went to the townhouse complex after a man called 911 to report he had hurt someone inside the residence. When they arrived, the man was outside waiting for them, police have said.
MacIsaac was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in the release.
A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with first-degree murder, police added.
The victim lived at the townhouse and the pair were known to each other, police have said, but they have not disclosed the nature of the relationship.
