The supporters of self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi planned a demonstration outside Noida's Grand Omaxe society on Saturday.
Heavy police force has been deployed near Noida's Grand Omaxe society after supporters of self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi planned a demonstration outside the society complex on Saturday.
Police said they received information through social media that Tyagi's supporters are marching from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut where he was arrested, and will gather at the housing society in Noida. Following the information, police personnel were deployed outside the society as a precautionary measure and to maintain peace and order.
His supporters said that Tyagi was arrested for "misbehaving" with a woman but the police also "misbehaved" with his women supporters. They further said Tyagi's wife and children were targeted after he went missing and their protest is against such attacks.

Shrikant Tyagi was arrested by the police for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman on the premises of Grand Omaxe in Noida Sector 93B. The incident took place when the woman objected to the plantation of some trees by Tyagi, citing violation of rules even as he claimed he was within his rights to do so.
As many as 12 police teams and the Uttar Pradesh STF searched for Shrikant Tyagi across three states. He was traced to Meerut, where police arrested him and three of his associates.
