The Patiala house court on Sunday extended the police custody of Lawrence Bishnoi for five days.
The Patiala house court on Sunday extended the police custody of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for five more days. This comes days after he withdrew his plea from the Delhi High Court seeking necessary safeguards as he apprehended a "fake encounter" by the Punjab Police.
Lawrence Bishnoi is suspected to be involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala that happened on May 29.
The special cell of Delhi Police told the court that there was a need to interrogate Bishnoi further after his interrogation revealed the members of his gang and their role.
Bishnoi had given three names to the Delhi Police in connection with the Arms Act case against him. Bishnoi told the police that Ranjit, Vijay and Shyam Singh from Uttarakhand used to supply arms for the gang.
Bishnoi was lodged in the Tihar Jail in connection with a case lodged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act (MCOCA) and was on Tuesday remanded in three-day custody of the Delhi Police Special Cell after it arrested him in an Arms Act case.
Lawrence Bishnoi is suspected to be involved in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's killing. Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, a day after the state government curtailed his security cover.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar has allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder on May 29, and said it was planned by him and the Lawrence Bishnoi group.
