Poland stands by Ukraine, conflict not in Russia's interest: Polish Ambassador to India
India Today
Ambassador of Poland to India Adam Burakowski told India Today that both the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) and Poland stand by Ukraine amid its ongoing tussle with Russia.
Speaking exclusively to India Today on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, Ambassador of Poland to India Adam Burakowski said that Russia would understand that conflict is not in their interest and both the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) and Poland stand by Ukraine.
"Negotiations are the only way out. Ukraine is a sovereign nation and can decide if it wants to join Nato or not. Ukraine is also very resource-rich, but it belongs to Ukraine and not Russia. The situation in the Donbass region is really tense. Nato and Poland stand by Ukraine. Ukraine is determined to resist Russia," Adam Burakowski told India Today.
On being asked about sending forces to Ukraine, Adam Burakowski said, "Ukraine is not a Nato ally, so sending forces is not possible, but we are helping with all the weapons and military assistance."

The Polish Ambassador's statement comes amid mounting tension between Moscow and the Nato countries over Russia's increasing military build-up close to the Ukrainian border.
The US has repeatedly warned of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, even as Moscow has denied such a move. On Sunday, US President Joe Biden accepted "in principle" a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin provided Moscow does not invade Ukraine.
Russia has been opposing Ukraine joing the Nato.
