
PM Modi unveils slew of development projects, lauds double-engine govt in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled a slew of development projects in Assam, where he also took part in a 'peace, unity and development' rally.
Unveiling a slew of development projects worth Rs 1,650 crore in Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the double-engine government in the state, where he also took part in the peace, unity and development rally.
He said incidents of violence have also come down by 75 per cent and that Assam and Tripura are seeing a relaxation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) for the first time.
"We are trying to dilute AFSPA in Nagaland and Manipur," he said, congratulating the chief ministers of all north-eastern states.
