PM Narendra Modi will participate in the 'griha pravesham' or house-warming ceremonies of over 5 lakh homes in Madhya Pradesh via a video conference. These houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin.
As part of the Centre’s endeavour to provide a pucca house to every needy family in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘grih pravesham’ ceremony of about 5.21 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) in Madhya Pradesh at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 29, via video conference.
The event will feature traditional celebrations with conch-blowing, lamp-lighting, showering of flowers, and rangoli in the new houses.
The implementation of the PMAY-G in Madhya Pradesh has seen several other associated welfare measures, such as training of thousands of masons, including women, use of fly-ash bricks, empowerment of women-centric and women-run self-help groups (SHGs) by providing them with loans for sourcing material and using technology for better execution and monitoring of projects.
