PM Narendra Modi was seen wearing Uttarakhand’s traditional cap and Manipur's traditional stole as he took part in the 73rd Republic Day celebrations.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the National War Memorial on Wednesday, January 26, to pay tribute to martyrs, he was seen wearing Uttarakhand’s traditional cap.
He was also seen sporting the Brahmakamal, which is the state flower of Uttarakhand. He uses this flower whenever he does pooja at Kedarnath. The Prime Minister was also seen wearing a stole from Manipur.
Interestingly, the accessories in the PM's choice of attire are linked to states that are going to the polls next month.
The PM paid tribute to martyrs at the National War Memorial and then proceeded to Rajpath where the Republic Day parade is being held. The Amar Jawan Jyoti was merged with the Eternal Flame at the National War Memorial on January 21.
