State Cabinet minister Firhad Hakim said the certificate with the chief minister's picture is only for those people in the 18-44 age group who opted for free jabs at a public health facility as these vaccines are procured by the state, not the Centre.
West Bengal has joined the list of Opposition-ruled states that removed the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from vaccination certificates for people between the 18-44 age group. The TMC government in the state has now replaced PM Modi's image with that of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. State Cabinet minister Firhad Hakim said the certificate with the chief minister's picture is only for those people in the 18-44 age group who opted for free jabs at a public health facility. The vaccine for the 18-44 age group has been procured by the state and not the Centre. People from this age group who opt for free jabs can now get two vaccine certificates -- one with PM Modi's picture and another with CM Mamata Banerjee's picture -- from the Co-Win app.More Related News
