Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega Ahmedabad event is a soft start to the BJP's election campaign in the state, sources told India Today TV.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a mega show at his home turf, Ahmedabad, on Friday, a day after his party’s stellar performance in four states - Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. This will be the soft start to campaigns for the Assembly elections slated for later this year, sources in the BJP told India Today TV.
The prime minister is scheduled to land in Ahmedabad at 10 am tomorrow from where he will head to the BJP's state office Kamalam in Gandhinagar for the mega road show. The road show, from the airport to the party office, will cover over 6 km.
PM Modi will chair a meeting with several top leaders after the event and will likely go to the Raj Bhavan later.
Another grand event has been planned at the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, or GMDC, ground in Ahmedabad in the evening. People from Gram Panchayats, Taluka Panchayats, and District Panchayats will attend the programme, along with MLAs, MPs, and state leaders.
