The Centre modified Covid vaccination policy from May 1, allowing states to procure 25 per cent of vaccines including from global suppliers. States were given the liberty to decide age-eligibility of vaccine beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced another change in Covid-19 vaccination policy from June 21. The central government will now procure 75 per cent of all Covid-19 vaccines and allocate them to the states free of cost, PM Modi said. Rest 25 per cent of Covid-19 could be procured by private hospitals for those who want to get inoculated there, PM Modi said. In his televised address, PM Modi explained why Covid-19 vaccination policy was changed in May. He said the centralised Covid-19 vaccination policy was changed due to growing demand for the same from states and campaign by a section of media.More Related News
