PM Modi chairs meeting at his residence over govt formation in UP, Goa, Uttarakhand

A meeting is underway at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence regarding the formation of governments in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Uttarakhand.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting at his residence over the formation of the Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Uttarakhand governments. Top BJP leaders including Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh and BJP general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh are part of the discussion currently underway at PM’s residence.
The BJP secured a majority in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Uttarakhand in the recently concluded state assembly polls. The party said it will also be forming the government in Goa where it won 20 out of 40 seats and claims to have the support of three Independent MLAs and two MLAs from the MGP.
Earlier today, N Biren Singh was unanimously elected as the chief minister of Manipur for a second time at the Manipur BJP legislature party meeting in Imphal.
Meanwhile, in Uttarakhand, the newly elected MLAs will take their oath at a ceremony at the Vidhan Sabha in Dehradun at 11 am on Monday. Later in the evening, the next chief minister of state will be decided at the BJP legislative party meeting, said state party chief Madan Kaushik.
Though the party won the Uttarakhand polls, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lost his assembly seat.
In the case of Goa, the BJP central leadership will finally arrive in the coastal state and decide who will be the next chief minister of the state. Meanwhile, the party has to take a call on who to appoint as deputy chief minister in Uttar Pradesh.
It is expected that by the end of next week, the BJP will complete the government formation process in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa.
