Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that PM Modi is busy toppling the Maharashtra government when floods have hit Assam. He said the BJP has gone blind for power and only power is everything for them.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Assam and announcing a special package amid the flood situation. Gogoi said that PM Modi should visit the state and announce a special package, but he is busy toppling the Maharashtra government and the Gujarat elections.
Gogoi, who is the Deputy Leader Lok Sabha INC, further said that BJP has gone blind for power and only power is everything for them.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi was quoted by ANI as saying, "If there's a crisis, it's that of floods. BJP has gone blind for power. There're floods in Assam, PM should visit the state, announce special package but he's busy toppling Maharashtra govt, or in Gujarat elections...Only power is everything for BJP." (sic)

Taking to his official Twitter handle, he wrote, "Mainstream channels who are covering political news in Guwahati, please cover the desperation of people in Silchar and Karimganj. They don’t have water, people are dying and shamshaans are overflowing with water. Im getting many calls and trying to help as many. #BJPisBusy" (sic)
