Pious Mathew appointed as CBI special public prosecutor for Walayar rape and murder cases, with extensive legal experience.
Former government pleader Pious Mathew has been appointed as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special public prosecutor for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) cases related to the Walayar rape and murder. The deaths of young girls in Walayar has been investigated by the CBI following the instructions of the Kerala High Court. Mr. Mathew is currently serving as the special public prosecutor for the POCSO case in the Kumaramangalam sexual abuse case at the Thodupuzha Court. With over 33 years of experience as a lawyer, Mr. Mathew served as the public prosecutor and government pleader for over 15 years, starting from 2003.
