Hyderabad police solved a murder after seven digits of a phone number were found on the hand of a decomposed corpse inside a lake. Police arrested two men for murdering the victim.
A phone number found on the right hand of a corpse pulled out from a lake helped Hyderabad police solve a murder reported on January 9 in Telangana’s Shameerpet. Two people were arrested by the police in Madhya Pradesh in connection with the murder.
When the police recovered the body from the lake, they found unrecognisable digits due to the body’s decomposition.
With some help, the police extracted seven digits. With some analysis of mobile phones which were active near the lake, the other three digits of the suspected mobile number were found.
After verifying around 2,000 mobile numbers by switching digits, they finalised on around 90 mobile numbers whose movements were traced to near the lake where the body was found.
Police traced the victim and her family with this. The family gave information to the police about the suspect. Her brother informed the police about her relationship with Yogesh and gave them his number.
Based on this, the police arrested Yogesh and his friend Rajesh, who helped him in the murder. Yogesh killed the victim because he suspected her of having affairs with other men.
