Philips recalls potential cancer-causing sleep apnea devices, ventilators in India
India Today
Philips has said it is recalling sleep apnea devices and ventilators in the Indian market after some were found to have cancer-causing risks.
After Philips sent out a product recall notice in the US due to a part of the equipment of some breathing machines and ventilators that could potentially carry the risk of causing cancer, the company said that it is recalling these devices in India as well. Dutch company Philips, which is one of the largest manufacturers of sleep apnea machines and ventilators, will recall machines as a foam used to dampen the sound can degrade and emit small particles that irritate airways. Gases released by the degrading foam may also be toxic or carry cancer-causing risks.More Related News
