Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said the ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) should have been imposed earlier.
Rajasthan cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas took a jibe at the central government on Wednesday and said the Popular Front of India (PFI) should have been banned earlier. This came after the government announced that PFI and its fronts will be banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for five years.
"The ban on PFI should have been imposed earlier. Why did it take them 8 years to impose the ban?", said Pratap Singh.
Khachariyawas further said that it is the Congress leaders who have faced terrorist attacks and that terrorists do not attack BJP leaders.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associated outfits for five years for their alleged role in terror funding and links to global terror groups.
The Centre's action came after the second round of crackdown by central probe agencies on PFI functionaries across different states. Over 250 PFI members/workers were arrested during the two raids and several incriminating documents were seized.
