The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the fourth day in a row across the country on Sunday, October 17, 2021. According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol and diesel prices were increased by 35 paise per litre each today, adding to the woes of the common man.
In the national capital, Delhi, petrol is retailing at Rs 105.84 per litre, rising to its highest-ever level. Similarly, the rate of diesel has also crossed the Rs 94 mark and costs Rs 94.57 per litre in the national capital. In Mumbai, petrol can be bought at Rs 111.77 per litre, following an increase of 34 paise, touching a record high.
