For the fifth consecutive day, the prices of petrol and diesel have continued to increase in Bhubaneswar. After the latest revision, petrol is retailing at Rs 106.83 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 96.62 per litre.
Burning a massive hole in the common man’s pocket, fuel prices have continued to increase for the fifth consecutive day in Odisha's capital city, Bhubaneswar.
After the latest revision in fuel rates, on Tuesday, petrol is retailing at Rs 106.83 per litre whereas people have to shell out Rs 96.62 for one litre of diesel. Notably, the petrol and diesel rates have increased by 86 paisa and 84 paisa respectively, in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, on Monday, petrol rate was recorded at 105.97 per litre whereas diesel was being sold at Rs 95.88 per litre in the city.
The price of petrol and diesel was hiked for the seventh time in eight days on Tuesday. While the price of petrol was increased by 80 paise per litre, the cost of diesel rose by 70 paise per litre.

Moreover, the prices of petrol and diesel vary from state to state, depending on the incidence of local taxes like value-added tax (VAT) and freight charges.
