Fuel prices are witnessing a trend of record highs with petrol and diesel prices being hiked again on Sunday. In Delhi, petrol was hiked by 29 paise and diesel by 27 paise. With this, a litre of petrol now costs Rs 97.22 in the national capital and diesel is retailing at Rs 87.97 per litre. With the latest revision by the state-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMC), the fuel rates have hiked for the 28th time since May 4. In Mumbai, petrol stood at Rs 103.36 per litre and diesel was priced at Rs 95.44 per litre. The fuel rates dropped slightly on Saturday in the financial capital. Among other metro cities, a litre of petrol and diesel in Kolkata now costs Rs 97.12 and Rs 90.82 respectively.
