Personal records of senior Coast Guard officers go missing, may result in seniority change in force

The investigation into the allegations was ordered after an inspector-general rank officer complained to the defence ministry that his records were manipulated.
Personal records of many Indian Coast Guard officers have gone missing in the force, which can lead to change in seniority of the leadership, government sources said. The issue of the missing personal records or the Annual Confidential Reports of senior officers came up during an enquiry by the defence ministry into the manipulation of service records of officers at the inspector general and additional director general ranks. Defence ministry officials refused to share any details, saying that the enquiry was still going on. The probe is being headed by two joint secretary-level officers.
