HE Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the League of Arab States Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi praised the pivotal role of the State of Qatar in serving Arab issues, pointing to the coinciding of holding the 31st regular Arab League summit in Algeria, with the State of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in November. His Excellency stressed, in statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that there are important positive impacts for Qatar's hosting of the World Cup at the Arab level in various fields, pointing out that Qatar, the Gulf states and the Arab world will be placed at the top of the world's priorities, with interest in sports, good organization, and the security and safety that the great Arab world enjoys. HE Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab League extended his congratulations to the State of Qatar on its success in the distinguished preparation for hosting this global event, which is a source of pride for all Arabs, noting the participation of Arab and Gulf countries in such a global event, with signs of its success that are seen in the well-organized preparations and distinguished facilities set up by the Qatari government, confirming that the State of Qatar is doing everything that would lead to the success of the tournament. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is an event that everyone is awaiting with great anticipation, and organizing the tournament in the State of Qatar is an opportunity for the whole world to see the cultural, intellectual, heritage and historical aspect of Qatar, as well as the Sultanate of Oman and the whole Arab countries in general, His Excellency said, calling on the all peoples from around the world to see the sustainable development that has been achieved in the Arab countries, and what women have achieved in terms of human rights. On how to benefit from the World Cup in Qatar, especially with the affirmation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani that the tournament is dedicated to all Arabs, HE Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab League called for the necessity of investing in Qatar's hosting of the World Cup on several axes, whether economic, tourism, cultural, heritage and civilization, pointing out the great coordination between Qatar and the Gulf states, as well as the coordination between many institutions in the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar regarding the World Cup. On the Arab Summit in Algeria, HE Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi said that this summit is of great importance, given the current challenges that the entire world is facing, including the Arab countries, which is represented in the environment, energy, and food security fields, and it also comes after a break due to the conditions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. His Excellency expressed his hope that this summit would be for the benefit of Arab reunification and would produce results that meet the aspirations of the Arab citizens under the umbrella of the Arab League, adding that there are challenges facing the young generation that possesses many hopes and ambitions with this economic situation that resulted from the circumstances that swept the world and proved the necessity and importance of coming together and uniting. On placing the Palestinian cause at the top of the Arab Summit priorities, HE Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab League stressed that the Palestinian cause is the most important issue for the Arab nations, and that the failure to solve it entails many challenges and different problems. Regarding food security in the Arab countries, His Excellency stressed, at the conclusion of his statements to QNA, the importance of raising food security in the discussions of the Arab Summit because of the importance it represents for the Arab peoples, and that the leaders gathering in Algeria came out with results that would bear fruit for the Arab peoples.
