Stating that the party accepts the people's verdict in assembly polls in four states and Puducherry, the Congress urged the central government to now focus on tackling Covid and ramping up hospital infrastructure.
Results of the assembly elections in four states and one UT are not as per the party's expectations, said Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala. The party fell short of its target in Assam and its coalition in Kerala, the United Democratic Front (UDF), was unable to unseat CM Pinarayi Vijayan. He added that the party will conduct an assembly-wise assessment and try to come up with reasons to explain what happened.
