Pennsylvania high school football player collapses during game following hard hit to helmet
Fox News
The family of a Pennsylvania high school football player says a "severe helmet hit on the field" left Carter Mason with a "brain bleed."
Friend later provided an encouraging update saying Mason was "breathing on his own," and doctors "removed the intubation." She also noted that medical personnel "topped the sedation" and "the teenager was "briefly opening his eyes." Chantz Martin is a sports writer for Fox News Digital.
"We’re just taking it day-by-day," Carter’s uncle Dean Friend said in a video update on Sunday from the teenager's bedside.
