Pedestrian struck and killed on Western Road near student rentals

Police in London, Ont., are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed near a student apartment building on Western Road east of Platt's Lane Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to 974 Western Rd. at about 1:15 p.m. ET after a woman was struck by a vehicle.
The age and identity of the victim have not been released. Police say the driver involved remained on the scene.
The public is being asked to avoid the area as the traffic management unit continues to investigate.
