
Pedestrian struck and killed in north Scarborough, Toronto police say

A pedestrian has died after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in north Scarborough Wednesday morning, police say.
Just before 10 a.m., police received reports that a female pedestrian had been struck near the intersection of Brimley Road and Brimwood Boulevard, just north of Finch Avenue E. and McCowan Road, Toronto police said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They did not provide further details about the her age or identity.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
There is an ongoing investigation into the incident and police are warning drivers to expect delays in the area.
Police said they will provide an update on the collision early Wednesday afternoon.
