Pedestrian dies after pole struck by MTA bus falls on him: cops

A pedestrian died two days after an MTA bus driver struck a pole — which then fell on top of him — in Brooklyn last week, cops said.
The 36-year-old MTA bus driver was heading east on Eastern Parkway near Utica Avenue in Crown Heights just after 7 p.m. Thursday when he swerved to avoid a disabled vehicle and struck a pole on the sidewalk with the side mirror of the bus, authorities said. The pole then toppled onto the pedestrian, Lance Margolin, 59, causing head and body injuries, police said.More Related News
