Peacock TV to air ‘Queer Planet’ documentary on gay, bisexual and trans animals

NBCUniversal’s streaming outlet Peacock TV is set to air a documentary about gay, lesbian and transgender animals titled “Queer Planet” — prompting a wide range of reaction on social media.
Peacock unveiled a promo for the documentary, which will premier next month.
“Queer Planet” delves into “gay penguins, bisexual lions [and] sex-changing clown fish” — with one of the experts interviewed for the documentary saying that “it’s only in humans that we have had such a stigma about it.”
“The idea of having just two fixed sexes is clearly out of style,” the promo’s narrator, actor Andrew Rannells, said in the clip, which went viral on social media.
Another commentator interviewed for the documentary declared: “Mother Nature is pretty open-minded.”
“It’s clear that no matter where you look on our planet, nature is full of queer surprises,” the narrator said in the promo, which is interspersed with footage of animals mating.
