Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal said that Arshdeep Singh has been a leader in the PBKS outfit in the ongoing IPL 2022 as the young pacer has bailed out the team from tricky positions.
Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal hailed 'brilliant death over bowler' Arshdeep Singh for his consistent performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, saying the young pacer has been a leader in the PBKS outfit.
"I think he has been brilliant, nothing short of brilliant. Every time we have been in tricky situation, he has put his hand up and he has executed it. He has been exceptional and he has been a leader in the team. It's fantastic for him and us that he comes out and executes as he does," Mayank said in the post-match presentation.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made a dream comeback with a career-best 68 as Rajasthan Royals remained in hunt for a play-off berth after beating Punjab Kings by six wickets in an IPL game. There was a bit of drama towards the end after the tournament's best death overs' seamer Arshdeep (2/29) bowled a brilliant penultimate over, giving just three runs and taking the wicket of Padikkal (31).
Needing eight runs from the last over, Hetmyer struck a six to seal the chase with two balls to spare.
The win also meant that the five-time champion Mumbai Indians became the first team to be eliminated from the IPL-15 season. The loss also dealt a big blow to Punjab's playoff hopes as they now have 10 points from 11 matches.
